Martial Zapata began training in martial arts when he was a teen. He holds the rank of Senior Full Instructor in Contemporary Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts, Senior Full Instructor in Military Edged Weapons under Sigung Paul Vunak founder of Progressive Fighting Systems, trainer to the Navy Seals and top student of the legendary Guro Dan Inosanto. Martial is one of the few Senior Training Officers for Progressive Fighting Systems and promoted to PFS West Coast Regional Director of Operations. He has trained in self defense mixed martial arts namely: Muay Thai, Kali/Escrima, Kenpo Karate, Wing Chun, and Boxing. He currently holds the Full Instructor “Kru” rank in Muay Thai as well as Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Martial Arts Hall of Famer, Professor Barry Jenkins Sr, President/CEO of Warrior Martial Arts LLC. Sifu Martial is a proud member of Jiu Jitsu Global Federation an association created by Master Rickson Gracie.
