**Darrell Thompson** began training directly under Paul Vunak in 2010 through the Descendants of the Masters and Progressive Fighting Systems lineage, earning his Senior Instructor certification in 2016. He remains a dedicated student of Jeet Kune Do and PFS, with an emphasis on adaptability, functional skill, and practical application in real-world fighting.
Darrell is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Erik Paulson in the Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) lineage, further integrating Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission grappling, catch wrestling, and MMA into his approach to martial arts.
In 2022, Darrell founded Cultivate Power Fighting Arts in Oroville, California. Cultivate Power is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA academy built around functional martial arts, combining the principles of Jeet Kune Do and Progressive Fighting Systems with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, CSW, striking, and modern mixed martial arts training.
